Rod ends.
Movable connections for dynamic requirements
Rod ends are mechanical connecting elements used where rotating or pivoting movements are required between two components, for example, in the connection between a tie rod and a bearing block or cylinder. They absorb tensile and compressive forces and also compensate for slight angular deviations.
Due to their compact design, high load-bearing capacity, and versatility, rod ends are indispensable components in a wide variety of applications, such as in mechanical engineering, vehicle construction, agricultural and construction machinery, hydraulic systems, and industrial automation.

Product overview
88 productsOur rod ends comply with the DIN ISO 12240-4 standard (formerly DIN 648) and are available in the E and K series. They consist of a housing with an integrated spherical plain bearing, which is either maintenance-free or regreasable, depending on the application and requirements.
The following options are available:
- Maintenance-free rod ends with sliding layer systems (e.g. PTFE) – ideal for hard-to-reach or low-maintenance environments
- Regreasable rod ends with steel/steel sliding pairings – for heavy-duty applications with regular maintenance
We offer rod ends in various designs:
- Housing materials: Free-cutting steel, heat-treated steel, stainless steel, zinc-plated or coated
- Internal bearings: Maintenance-free or relubricated plain bearings
- Connection threads: Internal or external threads (right-hand or left-hand, metric or imperial, standard or fine threads)
- Various bearing clearances
- With threaded studs
Our rod ends are corrosion-resistant and – depending on the design – suitable for use in aggressive environments such as those containing moisture, dust, salt, or chemicals.
We also offer our rod ends and spherical plain bearings in other materials. Please let us know your specific requirements.
