Stainless Steel (NIRO)
Stainless joint technology. For the highest demands in corrosive environments
Our stainless steel rod ends and spherical plain bearings (NIRO product series) cover virtually all applications in corrosive environments – from machinery in the non-food and food sectors to demanding industries such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and medical technology. They are corrosion-resistant, mechanically stable, and designed so that the surface quality is not affected by use.

The stainless steel versions from FLURO are used in:
- Lifting, conveying and transport systems, filling and packaging machines, conveyor technology, weighing, dosing and testing technology
- Buses, rail vehicles and cable cars
- Agricultural machinery, grain and feed processing
- Special requirements in the food, medical, pharmaceutical and chemical sectors
Depending on the application, we choose:
- V2A / AISI 304 (1.4301) – for less aggressive environments
- V4A / AISI 316/316Ti (1.4401/1.4571) – for demanding environments (salt water, chemicals, pharmaceuticals)
In addition, surfaces are often electropolished or vibratory finished to create a microfine, pore-free structure that facilitates cleaning processes.
Our stainless steel lines have been tested in salt spray tests (DIN EN ISO 9227) and show extremely high corrosion resistance, typically for well over 500 hours without visible damage such as rust spots, discoloration or pitting.
- Combinations such as stainless steel/PTFE, stainless steel/bronze, or stainless steel/stainless steel—maintenance-free or regreasable—are available.
- Seals and surface polishing ensure a hygienic design.
- Maintenance-free coatings with sliding layers such as PTFE ensure smooth operation throughout the product's lifetime.
