Shipbuilding and Boat Technology
In shipbuilding and boat technology, components are exposed to extreme loads.
Saltwater, moisture, vibrations, and changing temperatures place the highest demands on material quality, precision, and durability. Particularly movable connecting elements such as rod ends and spherical plain bearings play a crucial role here – they ensure precise movements in controls, drive mechanisms, or hydraulic systems and guarantee reliable power transmission even under extreme conditions.
FLURO offers a comprehensive product portfolio of stainless steel rod ends and spherical plain bearings, specially developed for use in areas at risk of corrosion. Our components impress with their mechanical stability, excellent surface quality, and high resistance to aging and wear – even with permanent contact with saltwater.
Typical applications in shipbuilding and boat technology
- Propulsion and rudder mechanisms
- Hydraulic systems and controls
- Connecting elements between movable components
- Special solutions for offshore and marine vessels
The high corrosion resistance of our FLURO-NIRO rod ends is ensured by strict testing procedures such as salt spray tests according to DIN EN ISO 9227. Depending on the quality level, our components can easily withstand over 500 hours in the salt spray test before corrosion occurs. In addition, we offer various surface treatments that further increase protection and facilitate the cleaning of the components.
When standard solutions are not sufficient, we also manufacture special solutions according to customer requirements. FLURO develops custom-fit rod ends and spherical plain bearings for complex applications in shipbuilding and boat technology.
