FLURO in Motorsport
Motorsport places the highest demands on technology, materials, and reliability.
Components must permanently withstand extreme forces, vibrations, and varying loads. FLURO rod ends and spherical plain bearings are designed precisely for these conditions and make a crucial contribution to safe power transmission in highly dynamic applications.
Typical areas of application in motorsport include wheel suspensions, steering rods, stabilizers, as well as traction and shift rods. Here, radial and axial forces act simultaneously, supplemented by shocks, vibrations, and high accelerations. Depending on the track, vehicle setup, and driving style, strongly varying load scenarios occur, requiring utmost precision and consistent bearing stability.
Rod ends and spherical plain bearings developed for motorsport feature targeted preloading. This achieves zero bearing play. Under permissible operating conditions, only minimal settling behavior of the sliding pair occurs. Bearing play remains consistently low, service life is significantly extended, and precision is ensured throughout the entire period of use.
The high-strength housings made of 42CrMo4 are high-gloss nickel-plated. This surface treatment provides high corrosion protection, reduces dirt adhesion, and makes cleaning easier. The bearings are maintenance-free. Relubrication is not permitted, as the inner ring slides on an integrated PTFE fabric.
FLURO motorsport rod ends are available with internal or external threads, right- or left-hand threads, and in coarse or fine thread versions. Suitable accessories such as lock nuts, rubber protection caps, seals, and reducing sleeves to increase the tilting angle are available.
FLURO stands for durable, precise, and resilient solutions in motorsport – engineered for maximum performance under extreme conditions.
