Commercial Vehicles
Commercial vehicles such as trucks, buses, and delivery vans are a central part of modern logistics and mobility concepts.
They transport goods and people reliably over long distances, often under challenging operating conditions. Uneven roads, high vehicle weights, changing weather influences, and long operating times place extreme demands on all installed components.
Rod ends and spherical plain bearings perform important functions in commercial vehicles for power transmission, movement guidance, and vibration isolation. They must withstand high static and dynamic loads over the long term while enabling precise, play-free movement.
Typical areas of application in commercial vehicles
- Wheel suspensions and chassis components
- Steering and linkage systems
- Control connections in engine construction
- Turbocharger and exhaust gas recirculation systems
- Connecting elements in auxiliary units and ancillary drives
For applications with increased thermal requirements, FLURO manufactures high-temperature spherical plain bearings with custom connecting rods. These are designed for temperatures up to +800°C and can withstand strong engine vibrations and varying loads. Such solutions are used, among others, in exhaust systems, turbocharger systems, and in engine-adjacent applications.
To ensure the functionality and longevity of our components, we rely on comprehensive testing and verification procedures. These include torque and clearance tests, static and dynamic load tests, temperature tests, salt spray tests for corrosion resistance, and vibration tests. This ensures that rod ends and spherical plain bearings are precisely matched to their respective applications.
Thanks to many years of experience in massive commercial vehicle applications, FLURO is able to realize both standard solutions and customer-specific special designs. Our bearing solutions are engineered to ensure reliable performance and long service life even under extreme operating conditions.
